SAYS IT ALL....

A man who has nothing which he is willing to fight for, nothing which he cares more about than he does about his personal safety, is a miserable creature who has no chance of being free, unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself..... John Stuart Mill

Gas Prices

I just filled up my tank, it made me weep. Some see those prices and blame the government for not interveneing, others blame the oil companys. I blame the enviromentalists, it really is their fault. We have more than enough oil in this country, probally alot more than people realize. Drilling of known oil supplies wont harm the enviroment or any species, it takes a small amount of space to create oil wells and pipelines to transport oil.
For those of you who want alternatives to oil. Guess what? No other alternative is as cost effective and easy to supply as oil. Ethanol takes more energy to produce than it releases. You would have to cover the western United States with solar panels and windmills to produce enough energy to supply our needs. Nothing else is as cost effective as petroleum.
For those of you that say we should cut back our useage, I say screw that. As a species we have had to fight and claw our way to the top. From the earliest days as cavemen relying on the occasional lighting strike to produce fire through the years of city's covered in horse manure and sewage. I like the way things are, I like our Powered houses, I like to read at night by something other than candlelight. I like TV, the internet, and electric heat and air conditioning.

Black gold strangle hold

Why I love Rosie O'Donnel.

Simple...She takes herself so seriously and then utters the stupidest, most outlandish things imaginable. There is genuine comedic value in that.

People aggravate me, they really do!!

Why is it that anyone on their cell phone and in the fast lane must go 20 MPH less than everyone else? I know it’s a common complaint, but it truly is annoying. It does, however, give an insight to that person’s mindset. They have no respect or thought for anyone other than themselves. Do I think we should pass laws banning cell phone use in cars? NO. That’s the cowardly socialist way of doing things. Here is how you solve this problem. You pass the narcissistic, toad of a driver, and then you express your displeasure with gesture. I bet if your average normal person were flipped off several hundred times a day, everyday, it might encourage them to mend their ways. That is what I call a free market non-governmental solution. This method also seems so much more polite than side swiping them and driving them into a wall, burger joint, school bus, etc. I have considered this method, and I might have done it if I had better insurance.

Why is it that people who work for the government, some agencies anyway, feel that good manners and descent behavior are beneath them. A case in point: We had the animal control people of my city come through my neighborhood recently and go to each house and tell each resident that “your neighbor told us you have a dog.” in an effort to get them to pay for a license. Put aside the question of why I need the town’s permission to own a pet and what do I get for my money (very little in reality). Look at what animal control has done to a neighborhood of people, everyone in my neighborhood gets along with each other, but now each neighbor thinks the others snitched them out. So the town is willing to disrupt friendly relations and peaceful living all in the name of a few dollars. They left the area that day and spent several hours a day over the next four days staking out our neighborhood. In reality they spent more money on the effort than they could collect. I know this is minor compared to the abuses of a lot of other agencies but it is still aggravating. Especially when the moron tells me that he can go into my backyard and look around if he wants to, and then has the nerve to be offended when I tell him he can go back there, he just might not come back out. On a side note, why can’t the police use padded handcuffs?
